Glass to Metal Seals (hermetic seals )
Pre-oxidized:A suitable oxide layer is pre-oxidized on the metal
surface as a transition zone. The transition zone thus
enables the properties of the glass to gradually change
to those of the metal.
(Most metals require pre-oxidation)
Annealing:Reduce or eliminate the permanent stress generated during
the forming or thermal processing of glass, and enhance
the strain resistance of glass(lens).
Remove oxide:For optimal surface treatment of metal (electroplating
or electrochemical polishing), the metal oxide layer
must first be removed.
